The Audi A4 B7, 2004-2008, is a compact executive car popular all over the world. This automobile features a longitudinally oriented engine and can be found in two-door, four-door, and five-door body styles. Although the vehicle was well received by the public, a few unforeseen common issues have come to light since its production, such as diverter valve failure.
One symptom of this malfunction is the loss of boost. Sometimes the valve gets chipped. Alternately, the diaphragm can tear or pinholes may occur. If you have access to a VAG-COM diagnostic system or boost gauge, it is possible to attempt to troubleshoot on your own. Regarding the boost, you might find a drop, minimal or quite notable, or an abnormal initial spike. Some owners remove the diverter valve to manually inspect the diaphragm. DV replacements might include the VW #06F 145 710 C, a stock piece, or the Forge DV.
Most owners, however, either do not have access to the proper diagnostic equipment, are unqualified to interpret the results, or both. Furthermore, it isn’t easy to access the diverter valve. The part is easy to accidentally damage during removal. In this case, as in many, the result of a seeming DIY repair project can be increased repair costs.
For an affordable, expert option, we recommend visiting an independent German auto service specialist. Due to their knowledge of your make and model, they will most likely already be familiar with this possible part failure. They will have the proper tools, diagnostic systems, and expert knowledge to most-quickly and accurately identify and solve diverter valve and other such failures.
